Gee, I haven't posted much this month and not since my birthday 3 weeks ago!
I have been busy at work and also just not very energetic when I am at home.
So not much going on.
I go to work today, but I will have the
next four days off.
I hope to get a start on decluttering and cleaning
which I need to do very badly around here.
That is what I mean about no energy,
I can't even get stuff done around here.
But I do have a few RED things to show you.
Thank you to Sue over at
for hosting today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In November our church had a Fair Trade Festival.
There were things to purchase made in other countries.
I bought three things.
This interesting bowl with a lid was made in Vietnam.
I was very intrigued by it when I realized it was
made out of magazine pages.
See how it starts in a small coil and continues
until it is the size the craftsperson wanted it to be.
The inside of the lid and the inside of the bowl.
Look how the lid is made to fit perfectly on the bowl.
I find that amazing!
Notice the RED in it too!
Not sure how I will use the bowl though.
This is not really RED but I loved it anyway.
I am going to use it as a pencil cup by the phone.
I have a corn can there at the moment.
I think it is time to change it to something more interesting.
This pencil cup is from Asante Network.
This bowl is from the Asante Network also.
It is actually more RED than orange for real.
But against the RED tablecloth it looks more orange.
The underside of the bowl.
Notice the blue loop on the left side.
I did not realize that loop was there at first.
That gives me a way to hang it on the wall if I want to.
We did not put up a big tree this year.
Actually I did not even get my boxes of decorations out either.
For some reason I was just not up to it this year.
When Christmas came, I kind of wished I did get some out.
Perhaps next year will be better.
I did get this small tree from JoAnn's and
hung my cookie cutters on it with RED and white ribbon.
Also bought the RED mini tree skirt to go around it.
The cookie jar and pitcher are from Hallmark.
I bought them after Christmas last year.
They were still in their bag so I pulled those out.
I have candy in them.
Another thing I bought at JoAnn's was this Debbie Mumm tray.
I love her designs.
Two Debbies I love.
Debbie Mumm the designer and
Debbie Macomber the author.
Any other Debbies out there to love?
~~~~~~
Anyway, that was as far as I got for Christmas this year.
I really hope 2010 will be a good year for all of us.
Happy REDnesday and
Happy New Year!

I love that basket. The colors, shape and texture are so intriguing. I especially adore your gingerbread jar and pitcher. My kitchen turns into "Gingerbread Kitchen" during the holidays. I wish I had seen those last year.
Thank you for sharing all your reds!
Oh wow...that magazine creation is so cool. Happy belated birthday...hope you had a great one!!
Take Care,
Stephanie
I love that Debbie Mumm tray! I don't have anything by her though, because it's rather expensive. And your little cookie cutter tree is such a sweet idea for the kitchen!
I wish you happiness and prosperity in 2010!
Happy REDnesday,
Carol
Those bowls are awesome...I have seen women made those in the Philippines too. And you are right they are from newspapers, magazine (if it is glossy the better because it is colorful). Happy New Year!
Homemade Salsa and Tomato sauce
Oh what a pretty, neat little bowl! It's made from magazine papers? How cool is that?!
Happy New Year almost! You know, you aren't the only one that wasn't up to decorating this year for Christmas. I'm hearing that a lot from many different people. I too was not really "into it" this year either, but I forced myself to decorate some. Wonder what is so different this year that has so many not in the spirit of things. I hope we all get out of our funks and celebrate a fresh new year and start on life!
You sound like me, I didn't do much where decorating was concerned. Those are some very interesting pieces you bought. I like the bowl made from magazines. Happy New Year, Nea!!
The magazine bowl is something, isn't it! I'd like to meet the person who created that!
Hi Linnea - I'm so excited to be your neighbot at Cafe World! I love the first basket, can't imagine the time it took to make any of them!
What an intriguing bowl! That reminded me of making doorstops out of Sears catalogs when little!
Hi Linnea,
So good to see you posting again.
Was getting a lil worried about you. Haven't had much time to be visiting blogs lately, so just read the ones that pop up on my dashboard, but not leaving many comments either. By next week will be up to speed again.
So sorry to hear you have been feeling so tired, hope you are feeling good again soon. Maybe you are just missing your kids!!
It is hard to go visit them and enjoy it so much, and know it will
be awhile before you see them again. I went thru that when Scott lived up in Ky.- it is so great to see them, but then you leave knowing it will be awhile, so kind of hard on a Mom's heart!
Hope you had a good Christmas in spite of the lesser decorations,
sometimes you just need a break !!
Well hon, glad to see you are back and will be talking with you again soon.
Love and Blessings, Nellie
Oh Yea, and a Belated
Happy Birthday to you Linnea!
