G at Alphabe-Thursday

 Alphabe-Thursday Time!
Jenny is our host and you can go HERE to see more participants.

Today our letter is "G".
G is for Grapefruit.
Since I started loosing weight I started
eating half a Grapefruit most mornings.
When I cut a new one in half  I store the other one
in this bowl in the fridge for the next day.
I eat my Grapefruit in a Glass bowl.
I use my Grapefruit knife to cut it so that I can eat it.
I was lucky to find one with a RED handle.
My mom gave me her Grapefruit spoons.
My dad can't eat grapefruit because of the medication he takes.
So she let me have her spoons.
Here it is!
All ready to go.
YUM!
When I am out of Grapefruit, I find that I miss it.

Happy Alphabe-Thursday to you!

~Linnea~

Grapefuits always look so yummy but I can't get past that bitter taste to eat them. I love pummelos, which look like a grapefruit but taste like a mix between an orange and a grapefruit. Just the right amount of sweet & bitter when you get the right ripeness and they are delish!

Linnea! You have my mouth watering for a grapefruit. It's been a long time since I've sat down and eaten 1/2 of one like this...yum. Great idea for G!

I love grapefruit. The store was out of them today so I had to buy pomelos instead. They're interesting but Definitely not the same thing. :(

I love grapefruit! In fact, citrus fruit is very good for weight loss and detoxing your body. Thanks for stopping by my blog and it was nice meeting you!

I have serrated grapefruit spoons too but I like your red handled knife - it would certainly help with cutting the sections.
Our granddaughters peel grapefruit and eat them like an orange, don't think I could handle this method.
Good luck with your diet, I too am trying to lose weight, and I'm sure there are many others too. :-)

hi, Linnea,
Nice to hear from you hon, and glad you are doing well.
I love ruby red grapefruit, they are so delicious. I don't eat them often tho, cause I am allergic to citrus,
so I can maybe eat a few grapefruit or oranges, but then have to quit or it gives me canker sores, bummer.........lol
I am actually surprised we stayed awake until New Years ourselves , usually we fall asleep on the sofa trying to stay up.....lol

Take care hon, and hope all is well with you and your hubby,
Blessings, Nellie

Thanks for stopping by my blog for a visit! Yes, it has been so very long since I last posted. It has really been a big adjustment since I now have a 110 mile round-trip commute daily for work, and have been unpacking and setting up in the parsonage and decorating, and handling all the duties of being a pastor's wife. It is all a joy though...except for the commute.

I am going to try to blog more often and make visits again. Congrats on losing weight! I saw that you've lost 22 pounds. That's wonderful.

Hugs,
Kady

Wow. Congratulations on your weight loss success!

I love grapefruit. We have a grapefruit tree. I need to go outside every morning and pick one to eat.

I'm going to try!

Thanks for the inspiration and the great link to the letter G.

Hi Linnea! I love to smell grapefruit but I just can't eat it! :) Congratulations on loosing weight. I remember when I was a teenager, all the gals were on the grapefruit diet! I held my nose and ate some too! ;)
Well, you have everything you need to eat it up. My hubby loves it.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I love grapefruit as well. I store my leftover half upside down on a clear glass plate. I eat it with a bit of maple syrup for sweetener.

Morning Linnea,
So good to hear from you hon. Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather, and probably a good idea to take a day off, cause sometimes I think if we keep pushing we get a worse dose of it. Hubby and I both have been having stomach issues all week, not real bad, but lots of stomach cramps and bloating and the lovely stuff that comes with that. It's like we have a touch of something, but fortunately, so far, anyway, it is not a full blown case, and sure hope it stays that way, have had
just a touch of queasiness at times
too!
That is great yall started a bible study, I have to say I always learn so much more in a study even if it is a workbook I do myself, because you just learn more when you have to dig in the word some.
Always a blessing...........

My Grandmother always had grapefruit spoons and a grapefruit knives, cause she ate them pretty regularly. I love pink grapefruit,
they just seem so much sweeter than the white. I can eat the pink without sugar but definitely can't with the white, that has just gotta have some sugar.

Now is that sign above that says something about losing 24 pds. would that be for you. If so, that is wonderful......so hard to lose weight but so much healthier for us. I have put on a lil over the holidays and am trying to get it off, but haven't been trying hard enough, so this week, I have been doing better. Did an hr. of exercise off and on today, so am
hoping to see a dip in my scales tomorrow. We'll see!! lol
Well, it is 4:45 a.m. here, I finally got up and ate a bowl of cereal cause I only slept a short while and woke up feeling hungry,
so that probably want help my scales any! lol
My cat is over here yeowing at me to pet her!! lol Think she is glad
I woke up cause she was outside....
called her before we went to bed and she never came, and she likes to nibble on her food during the night.
Well, hope you feel better have a nice day of rest.
Blessings to you hon,
Nellie
I am headed back to beddie bye land, cause my bible study is tomorrow too, only at 9:30 a.m.
Hope I don't fall asleep on the table. lol
