The Letter "J" for Alphabe=Thursday

It is Alphabe-Thursday time again. I missed participating when it
was time for the letter "I". But I am back for the letter
"J".
Jenny (a "J" word) is our host and you can fine more
participants HERE,

I have used pictures from the Monterey Bay Aquarium for
a couple of Alphabe-Thursday posts and here I am using pictures
from there again!
J is for Jellyfish or Jellies as they refer to them at the aquarium.
These first few pictures I took when we went there in 2010 for
our anniversary. That was our first time to go there.
On that trip we were intrigued and fascinated by the Jellies.
We even went on a behind the scenes tour and learned more about them
as well.
It is amazing to watch them float around the tank.
As my pictures indicate, there are different kinds and
sizes too.
We went back there again in October of 2011.
And we were disappointed to find the Jellies display
being remodeled. But something to look forward to the next time
we go there.
According to the sign they are supposed to open in March.
The last day to be  exact. I wonder if they will stay on schedule and
open on time.
But they still had a couple tanks out so that visitors could see
the Jellies. Aren't they pretty?

I am looking forward to a chance to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium again.
Meanwhile thank you for visiting my Jellies.
Imagine watching them float and swim around
and find yourself relaxing and feeling those muscles
slowly loosening up. Watching the Jellies has that effect on you.

I have worst experience with jellies. They always seemed to find me when we went to the beach and it made for painful experiences. But they are pretty to look at. From afar:)

The jellies are one of my favorite exhibits at the MB Aquarium. I love that place and can spend hours there.

I love going to the aquarium. I was there in the summer but I don't recall seeing jellies at the one in Coney Island, New York. Great photos, Linnea. Cool "J" word, too. xo

How wonderful to see a post from you. I had a catastrophic system failure and lost all my lists. I glad to be back in touch with a dear friend. I've been a bit down and out, but doing better. How are you these days. In good health and spirits I hope. So glad we've reconnected!!!

Aren't they beautiful. There is such a peacefulness and artistry in watching their movements.

Altho they are pretty to look at, they sure can be painful if they sting ya.
When my kids were little, we went to the beach one summer and my little girl was on a boogie board, looked down and there was a jelly on her board. She just screamed and let the board go. She didn't get stung...and her daddy retrieved the board. :))
Thanks for sharing these pretty pics.

Hi Linnea! Oh, those jelly fish! We have them here in the gulf and if the water stays hot for a very long time - they're everywhere. Well, they do stay in the water! ;)
Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

HI Linnea,
Yum, Lentil soup and breadsticks,
sure sounds good to me, and would definitely be a warm fuzzy for me too, on a nice cold day.
Loved all your jelly fish pictures,
they are just amazing creatures aren't they. Someone recently sent me an acquatic video via email, that was from Bali and the Bahamas. What fascinating and beautiful videos, it is truly so amazing how creative the Lord is.......I saw all sort of creatures I have never laid eyes on before and they are so colorful.
Well, keep enjoying your 2nd child-
hood and so will I.....lol
Have a good weekend hon,
Blessings galore, Nellie

Thanks for a fun little jaunt for the letter "J".

I know people who have had not great experiences with jelly fish, but I've really only seen them in tanks like this.

I'm fascinated and oddly repelled at the same time by their fluidity and egg-whitey-ness (yes, I think that really is a word - ha! probably not!)

Thanks for sharing this.

I enjoyed all the pictures you had to share here.

A+
