Blue Monday #24

Took a break from posting for Blue Monday last week.
But I am back today with another Dala Horse.
First I need to thank Sally over at Smiling Sally for hosting Blue Monday for us.
That is definitely a big job to do that every week.
Some of you will probably remember my posting my Swedish Dala Horses for a previous Blue Monday. That white one belongs to my daughter and I have returned it to her so she can display it in her apartment.
Well, we also have this big Dala Horse.
My parents had this made for us in Lindsborg, Kansas.
It is sitting on the music rack on the piano which can give you an idea of the size of it.
It is more than an inch thick.
It is designed to hang on your porch or someplace outside your front door.
The reverse side has our last name on it.
Currently I have it sitting on the windowsill in the front window with the "Komigen" facing out.
I am not comfortable having our last name facing out.
I bet you can figure out what "Komigen" means.
Happy Blue Monday!!

~Linnea~
Update: After reading the comments this morning, a reminder-- this is in Swedish. Swedish Dala Horses would probably mean this in Swedish. Also sound it out and you might get it. A few of you have gotten it already! Picture this, the horse is designed to hang on your porch with your name facing out. So people arriving would see our name. But when leaving our house they would see the "Komigen" side. Hope that helps!!

Three or More Thursday #5

I have shared my Dala Horses before. But those were my blue ones for Blue Monday. This time I am sharing my orange ones, which seems to be the color most of the Dala Horses. I have exactly three orange ones which makes it perfect for Three Or More Thursdays. Most of my Dala Horses are labeled as being made in Sweden. A few of them are made by a Nils Olson. I think that is cool, since I named my son Nils. Happy Three or More Thursday!

Thank you to Tam at The Gypsy Corner for hosting Three or More Thursdays!

Blue Monday

This is my first time to participate in Blue Monday. I have plenty of blue things around my house. I just had to decide what I wanted to start with for the first week. I may sometimes post Blue Monday on my craft blog and sometimes do it here just like I do for Pink Saturdays.
Today I will show you my collection of blue dala horses. I have orange ones too. But for now I will just show you the blue ones with the white one thrown in for contrast. But the white one has blue in the painted design. This is a reflection of my Swedish heritage. My grandmother on my father's side was born in Sweden. Thank you to Smiling Sally for hosting Blue Monday. Hope you have a happy Blue Monday!
