REDnesday/Anniversary Outing

Yesterday was our 30th Anniversary!
When I took pictures I was keeping in mind
what would work for
REDnesday today.
Thank you to Sue at
for hosting this fun meme.
I ended up not feeling well last night so I am just now getting this posted
on Wednesday afternoon.
Stayed home from work today just to be safe.
I have a feeling I am having issues with milk products and
that could be why I was feeling so sick last night.
Still have a touchy upset stomach today too.
~~~~~~~
So what did we do yesterday?
I had to work in the morning, but
B-Daddy had the day off.
We went to one of our favorite places to eat lunch.
We had only gone for dinner, but now they
are offering a Blue Plate Lunch Special.
Our coffee was included in the price!
Each day is a different item on the menu.
Tuesdays it was
BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with Cole Slaw.
It nice to be able to try a during the week day.
Otherwise the only time we can try it is
on the weekends.
This RED rose was on our table.
The sauce on the meat looks sort of REDish.
Look how the cole slaw is served!
On a leaf of lettuce.
That cole slaw was sure tasty.
So was the sandwich!
This painting is on the wall.
I think each person painted on here is someone in our community.
Notice the RED light.
And one lady in the painting has on a RED jacket.
Here is the middle portion of the painting.
A couple of pictures at attached.
I think the artist is still working on those.
The blank people are unfinished.
The far right portion.
Notice another RED light!
I noticed the bike leaning against the wall
for the first time.
Notice also how the steps appear worn
from all the feet trodding up and down the steps.
Makes you want to go and see what is at the top.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We then drive to another town,
the one our church is in.

I noticed this REDdish flag hanging on a house.

We were headed here.
Never been here yet since it was opened.
Turns out we could have eaten at one of the places in here.
There was a cupcake shop.
A sort of market for fresh fruits and vegetables.
Other specialty food places.
There was room to hang out and
plug in your laptops if you want.
Like at a coffee shop.
There were three or four people doing that.
Being a Tuesday, it was not
very busy there.
There was also a candy shop there.
So we got some.
6 for B-Daddy
and
6 for me!
These are B-Daddy's. Most are
wine flavored except for the
Apricot Truffle at the top right.
These are mine!
Triple Berry Truffle, Apricot Truffle, Chocolate Truffle
Mimosa Truffle, Lemon Truffle and Rasperry Truffle.
Yummy!
I have been good.
Only ate two of them yesterday.
I think I will wait until my stomach is better before
I eat anymore.
Then we drove to another town to visit here.
We had not been there in ages.
Only three shops are the same,
the rest have changed.
We do not care for the changes.
Too upscale and expensive now.
RED bricks, RED awing on the left.
Here is another view of the building.
That is the main door there.
If you look between the planter and the tall plant
you can see a bike rack made
out of a wind barrel.
There were some create wine barrel stuff in the shops.
(try clicking on the picture for a larger view)
RED flowers here.
Then we went here which is next door.
These train cars used to house a bunch
of interesting shops.
We were sure surprised to discover that this is now an
Inn.
Each car is a room.
The drapes were open in a couple of the windows.
The bed is opposite the window
and bathrooms are set up at the other end of the car.
We did not check to find out the cost of staying there.
Too expensive probably.
Oh, and the cars are RED.
We could not believe all the changes going on in this town.
I guess that is what happens when you don't go there
for a long time.
We enjoyed the pretty drive though.
The vineyards are starting to change to their
fall colors.
~~~~~~~~
So we went back to our own town.
We were surprised how busy it was downtown.
Then we remembered it was Farmer's Market night.
We parked behind this car.
I rather liked that sticker on the car.
Notice RED here.
Also you can see the mission reflected in the car.
Our town has these kinds of pathways to walk down.
Look at the drawings on the wall and ceiling here.
This mannequin is in the old box office at the old theater.
It was hard to get a picture of it.
That is my shadow in the reflection.
Another view.
RED in the flag behind her.
She is dressed in olden style.
Look at that RED Hot Riding Hood poster in the booth.
They still show movies and shows in this theater.
We have been to it once.
Another pathway between buildings.
We were headed to this shop, but it was already closed.
Okay, let's look in the window for some RED.
Aha! I spy RED here!
And RED in the flags!
And if you look real carefully in the window
there is a lot more RED.
Like those RED clogs!
This store has lots of RED.
The Farmer's Market in the town square.
We wandered around and then heard music.
This group called the Love Choir
was performing.
See some RED there.
Here is their banner with RED on it.
The children were dancing with the music.
We sat there and tapped our toes for awhile with
the music.
The guy on the keyboard evidently lives in our community.
We don't know him, but the group asked him to
come up and place a piece with the choir.
He was good.
They had these RED hearts there too.
They may have been for donations.
~~~~~~
Finally we go and eat dinner at another favorite place that is across
the street from this area.
We had this dessert again.
Yummy!
And RED!
But after I got home I started feeling sick.
So I don't know if it was from what I ate or what it was from.
I am beginning to have issues with dairy products and
the cream in this may have been too much for me.
But it was sure good!
It was a good day for us.
A little too hot. In the 90's.
But still a good day.
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Great pictures!!! You sure did get a lot of red, even if there was just a little there is still red. I have a post comming up like that in the near future.

I also have milk issues...and a lot of other food issues besides. If you find you can't drink milk...soy or rice milk. Let me know and I will give you a recipe to make your own almond milk. I am making some right now as I write this.

Hi Linnea,
Well, I hope you are feeling better! Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby! That dessert looks pretty yummy as did the chocolate. Thanks for sharing all your reds and thanks for stopping by. You asked about painting; if you're just doing a small piece, I would just spray paint it after priming. A bigger piece like my coffee table was a LOT of work! Primed twice and painted six times!! Yup, but it was worth it! Have a great rest of the week.

Blessings,
Sandi
