Yesterday, we were busy getting the house ready for Thanksgiving guests. Well, today too. But anyway, one of the things we needed to do was to get all the moneyback recycling out of the house. That included aluminum cans, all glass that says a deposit was paid on it, all water bottles and others that we get money back for if we return them. So we had a bunch to take to the recycling center. We went to the next town for that because it is a better place. We got a whopping $23.60. I kept $10 and let my husband have the rest so he would have some cash in his wallet. He rarely has any. But on the way there I realized I never ate lunch. So after we finished I decided we could go and get a hamburger. A place we like to go to around here is Wendy's. Yum. We were surprised that the Wendy's we go to had been remodeled. Don't know how long ago that was done. But is was very nicely done. We had a pleasant and relaxing time eating our hamburgers. This sunset I have pictured here was our treat on the way home. It was so pretty, I told my hubby to pull over so I could get a picture. I did this shot with no flash. That just added to our pleasant time out. Then once we got home, it was back to the grind to get more cleaning and straightening done.
My husband needed to be at church today since he was assisting minister today. I did that role last week. But today I woke up with a horrible headache. Probably part due to stress and part due to PMS I guess. I thought I had stopped having Aunt Flo visit 5 months ago. So I was surprised it came again this weekend. A very heavy Aunt Flo and headache, ehhh not feeling so hot. I am better now. I did manage to get more cleaning done again. After my hubby got home, he cut up some the extra boxes we had around the house and put them in our recycling can. I did a lot of shredding and paper recycling. Our recycle can is practically full and it won't get picked up until Saturday this week. Our trash is normally picked up on Fridays. But the trash collectors get Thanksgiving off, so our day gets put off till Saturday when that happens.
I hope I can be ready for the dinner by Thursday. I do have the turkey in the fridge now doing its thing, defrosting. I wonder if I can make it dance around and defrost faster. Probably not.
Tuesday I will shop to get whatever I still need to get for Thursday's meal. The ingredients for the stuffing and the rest of what I need for my Green Bean Casserole. Also a little something for an appetizer. Don't know yet what I want to get for that. Hope everyone else is about ready for Thanksgiving!
Ta ta for now, Linnea

I can se you've been having a hard time with all the recycling. We do too, but we don't get any money for glass!!
I'm sure you'll get ready for Thanksgiving. Guess that's what all people think. Here it's more if one shall be ready for Christmas as we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. Every year it's the same talk about "Oh I've not done this or that", and still when the big day is in it all goes well.
I hope you have a good day.
Love Elzie
Hi, Nebear... I popped over from Blue Monday, and I wanted to say "hi" and thanks for stopping by my blog.
I don't know how on earth I'm going to be ready this year, so I'm not. ;-)
I'm just going to give thanks for the fact that some other family member is going to take pity on us and have us over for turkey and dressing and all the good stuff. Guilty? Nope. ;-) Thankful? You betcha! Here's wishing you the happiest of Holidays.
XO,
Sheila
HI Linnea,
what a beautiful sunset to be treated to on your drive home!
We also recycle but for the Kerri's elementary school - aluminum cans and paper - they receive money for school activities and equipment and Kerri and her class are in competitions to earn special things for bringing in the most. Right now, the 30 kids in the entire school who bring in the most cans get to so to Skallywagtag lazer arena for the afternoon for free!
We are also having green bean casserole on our Thanksgiving menu - yum!!!
Hope all is well and that headache is under control - GONE!!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy early birthday, Linnea! I want to thank you for your birthday wishes to me and wish you and your family a very blessed Thanksgiving!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
That is a beautiful sunset! I too love Wendy's hamburgers...we don't have one close by now so I don't get to have one very often.
I get horrible headaches during my cycle. I now have to wear a hormone patch when it is that time otherwise my head takes me out of commission for up to four days...YUCK! With the patch it is usually only about one day.
I know you will get everything done for your Thanksgiving feast....somehow we always do....hope you have a GREAT one!
The sunset is beautiful. I like Wendy's too. Hubby likes their chilli and I like their bacon cheeseburgers. We do recyling but don't get money for it. Every other Monday the trash collector picks up the recycables in the big yellow cans that were given to residents (if they wanted to participate). We don't have to separate paper from glass, etc. Sorry about your headache and other problems. I know that it can be miserable.
Sweetie
It sounds like you've been busy! I have a few things on my list too! It's a good busy though. The end result is usually a day spent with family and friends.
I hope you are feeling better. I keep asking my doctor to find the off switch because I'm done...at least in my mind.
If the turkey dance works let me know. I have one slowly defrosting in my refrigerator as well.
take care,
Dawn
I just love your sunset picture! I'm glad you and your husband were able to enoy a meal out on your recycling trip--it sounds like you've gotten a lot of clean up done. I'm in the middle of organizing my groceries and recipes too-somehow it all comes together in the end!
Morning, Linnea! Thanks for popping in to see my tablescape!!
I'm just trying to stay up with everybody in Blogland. At first I thought I just keep my blog the same, then I started seeing all of the cutest backgrounds for the holidays and gave up! ;p
Be a sweetie,

No matter what gets done or doesn't, just relax and enjoy it all...I think you will do just wonderfully! I always put too much stress on myself and no one else ever notices if something goes wrong! *grin*
I am betting everything you do will be perfect! It is done with love!
And the green bean casserole...my kids do not think it is a holiday without it! It is a MUST as far as they are concerned...and ooh it does taste good!
Such a beautiful sunset. We have had some lovely ones of late!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and to all those you love!
Love,
Sue

Thank you so much for the good wishes! I hope you can make that turkey dance (take pictures) : ) And I hope you have a beautiful Thanksgiving with your loved ones.
