Blue Monday #4

Happy Blue Monday to everyone! And thank you to Smiling Sally for hosting Blue Monday.

Here I have a cobalt blue Shirley Temple pitcher. Right now I don't remember who had this first, my grandmother or my mother-in-law. But eventually my daughter will get this because 1. she requested it and 2. she is a big Shirley Temple fan. But in the meantime I will enjoy it until either I am ready to turn it over to her or she starts begging me to send it to her. Note to daughter: How about I send it to you when you have a decent place to display it? That way I can keep it longer. Heehee. Behind Shirley Temple is a Currier and Ives platter. I have a bunch of Currier and Ives now that belonged to mother-in-law and yes I am sure of that. I packed it all at her house to bring it to mine. I remember doing that. You can also see a couple of Princess House things in the picture too. The vase I bought at a Princess House party I went to years ago. And the butter dish was my mother-in-laws. Happy Blue Monday to everyone!

Hi, Linnea, I love your blue! The Shirley Temple vase is so unusual and pretty! Thanks for your comment on my blog, you said you requested a sign language interpreter for your conference. I used to be a CART (communication access real-time translation) provider before I began to caption television, I worked in the school district and colleges too alongside interpreters providing services for students. I even learned sign language, but it was Sign exact english. It's been years now, and I lost most of my sign language skills, but I thought I'd mention that, it's such a small world, isn't it?! Suzie

Both the Shirley Temple pitcher and the Currier and Ives plate are lovely. Our daughters loved to watch the Shirley Temple re-runs that were on TV every Sunday afternoon when they were small. The pitcher with her picture brings back those great memories. Happy Blue Monday!

another vote for Shirley....I love it...The purple flower in my post had no smell so I don't think it's any type of lavender? But it sure was beautiful....

Hi Linnea!! Oh, I'm a Shirley Temple fan and have just about all of her little movies. Just love her. Oh, I see you have a Currier and Ives plate! I have so many of the dishes and serving pieces. Yes, it's funny, all of the dishes have the sweet little country scenes, but the tea pot has the nautical theme. But I love it!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)

Hi Linnea again! You must use the same sign language I do, sign exact english, have you ever tried CART services by providers such as myself? It is a trained court reporter who writes word for word what is being said and you read it on a laptop in front of you, it's not an overview or a notetaker, we can write up to 250 to 300 words a minute! I also provided CART at my church for many years for the service and for bible study classes, there were many late-deafened or HOH adults in church who loved it, it enabled them to read the service as it is happening, realtime! If you have any questions about this, you can email me also at purrpage3@verizon.net. You may already be aware of CART, I just always feel the need to share if it could benefit someone. And, also, there are those who are more "talented" at providing accurate captions in these services, experience and/or certification is a good thing to look for! Students cannot provide the speed necessary to really do well, 160, 180 wpm is not fast enough and they usually don't have the accuracy as a student either. Ok, that's all! Suzie

I have to say that I'm glad you mentioned that the pitcher is going to be mine cause there's a lot of people who read your blog that wouldn't mind getting it! But I agree that you should hang onto it until I have a better way/place to display it . Cause right now I don't have anywhere that would be nice enough! Love you!
