Booking Through Thursday

This is my first time to participate. I found it through Carol's blog at Charlie and Me. She participates everyweek. Booking Through Thursday is at http://btt2.wordpress.com/. Go there to find out more.
“This can be a quick one. Don’t take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you’ve read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.”
Hmmm....let's see if I can do this.
1. Robert Rows the River
2. Mystery of the Gulls
3. Lone Star Tomboy
4. Dangerous Island
5. Mitford Series by Jan Karon
6. Little House in the Woods
7. Thursdays at Eight
8. Cedar Cove Series by Debbie Macomber
9. West Side Story
10. The Incredible Journey
11. To Kill A Mocking Bird
12. A Caged Bird Sings(I think that is the right title)
13. The Thorn Birds
14. Roots
15. The Proud and the Free by Janet Dailey
I think it may have taken me a little longer than 15 minutes. But I had to jump up and pee at least twice. That is what happens when you are on the water pill. Sigh...so minus the peeing time, it was probably 15 minutes.
I know I have a couple of series there. But I couldn't just list one book out of the series. The Cedar Cove series is one that is still ongoing. Love those! Some of these books I read as a child. Some were reading requirements in high school. When I read Roots, my parents and I were reading it at the same time as Roots was on TV the first time. There were three bookmarks in the book, my mom's, mine and my dad's. Mom was the first to finish because she was home the most. I was second, not quite right on par with each episode of the series on TV and my dad was last.
Books 2, 3, and 4 I recently posted about on a Vintage Thingie Thursday post.
Happy Thursday!
~Linnea~

Thank you so much for visiting me today! I now have another blog friend! I look forward to checking your blog out.

Besides the upkeep of the pool, it also needed to be resurfaced, which would have cost more than taking it out so in the end, out it went!! It seems the older people get, they don't use it as much! But they are still kind of cool! :-)

I LOVE to read but am horrible at remembering titles of books that I have read. Is that crazy or what!?!?

Hi Linnea! You've picked some great books and I've read a few of them!
Oh, I'm really not sure. Someone told me it was the group where I got my blog dress and that group had used up their bandwidth and that's why mine messed up! I just took off my blogdress.

Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)

You have listed so many of my favorites as well!

The treasures that I brought home this trip were from my grandmothers side of the family. I am blessed to have a few Ingalls treasures too.

Thanks for visiting my watermelon collage an fruit stories today. Gosh you have a good memory for books. I keep a log and I write the title and author and a short blurb about the book because my old memory is not what it use to be:)

Hi Linnea,
Recently you asked a question on one of my posts. It was about Charli's outfits. I don't make them. I wish I was blessed with the ability to sew but I wasn't. I get a lot of them at target when they are on sale. I like looking through that dollar section when you first go into the store. I find lot's of stuff there. I also get some of the end of the season sale items at Pet Smart. Thanks for asking.

You've got some great books on that list, Linnea!

But I'm blue that you're not with us on Blue Monday. I miss you when you're not!

Love to you...

Hi Linnea: Thank you so much for your comment. You do truly understand what I am saying about prayer... How wonderful that the prompting to 'wait' was honored so you had time to grow up and meet your future husband. And, it's easy to see that your story ends with a 'happily ever after.'

Hi Linnea,
thanks for stopping in today and leaving a note. I have missed talking with you lately. well, we
heard from sonny boy and he made it to his destination 2 hrs. late,
but he and Joey are fine and he is
very excited to get started tomorrow. Yes, I was telling my son if this thing works out we might have to go into business, but I told him I was gonna teach him to sew them!! ha It is amazing how well it works at least here, so how it works as well on the trail. Yea, I thought that was so cute with her on the computer too. I had to do a lil
photoshop work on it to get my hubbys arm out of the way, cause he
was trying to hold her there till I could get the pic. It came out pretty well. hope you and Papabear
are doing well.
Blessings, Nellie

Hi Linnea!
LOVE the Thorn Birds, and the Little House Books, AND the Mitford series...and on and on. What a fun post. And I really enjoyed your red post. I had been trying to explain to Ian how a lot of churches back home celebrate Pentecost Sunday, and I had told him about red balloons. Also, your blog heading is great! Thank you for bringing me a taste of home every time I read your blog. God bless! <><

Stacey said...

Me again... thanks for your comment on my post. I'm glad you don't know those people! I don't follow them either. I think your church and faith are pretty much the same as mine. I recognize lots of things you post about your church, and miss them, wishing the Church of Scotland would do some of those wonderful celebrations and recognitions of the faith I grew up with. Anyway, blessings for now! Stacey <><

I used to read a whole lot more than I do now... I am ashamed to say I get through 1-3 books a year now...but it is okay. When Don gets better and can help me with more of the farm chores, I will have more time.

Michelle said...

Wow, those are a lot of books there. I think I maybe have read a 1/3 of them. I'd really like to checkout the Cedar Cove series.

Hope all has been well with you Linnea! :)
