What I Have Been Up To

Helmi and I (and hubby too) have been getting ready for a special visitor who is coming soon. My house was and is still out of sorts. But we made some headway today. Hubby was taking care of taming the Paper Tiger most of the day. We can actually see the top of our breakfast bar!! Yay! This is the hutch in the dining room. I like to use different doiles to go with the season on the shelves here. At Thanksgiving I have fall colored ones. Then Christmasy ones with poinsettas on them. And for February I have these red ones. I just put them in today. The rest of the year I use white ones. Unless I can find more seasonal ones for the holidays I don't have yet.
Here is a close up, but it is kind of hard to see because of the reflection of the windows in the glass of the door.

Here is another close up with gravy boat we bought on my birthday outing in December.
I have Valentine's Day theme coffee cups on the stove. I also have this cute little apple teapot that was a gift one year.
Another cup full of hearts.
This cup is rather large. I think a flower arrangement came in this cup. I am using it to hold measuring spoons for this month. I was using one of my Christmas mugs to hold the measuring spoons earlier.
This is my seasonal plate display area. Notice my candy jar is filled with new candies. These are candy covered Hersey's Kisses. Yum!
Helmi helped me refill the jar. I think she is hoping to grab some when I am not looking. She didn't confess to grabbing some, or not.
I have not drunk tea much lately. But I decided to use my new little teapot. First I heated some water in this teakettle.
Then I poured the hot water into my teapot over some Almond Sunset tea.
Yummy!
I should drink tea more often.
My new blog header reflects more of the decorating I did today. I don't have very much in the way of decorations for Valentine's Day.
I need to remedy that at some point. The two little bears holding a heart are recent additions. Found them at the Dollar Tree.
Hope you are having a good day!

Hey Nommy! You put a picture of my favorite bear in your header! Can you guess which one it is? I like all the decorating and cleaning you got done. That darn Paper Tiger just keeps rearing it's little head. I've got one of those at my house too. Need to get going on taming it a little.

Loved seeing your red pretties, Linnea. And that Helmi looks so cute next to the jar of candy that it doesn't matter that she sneaked a few!

Here's hoping you have a wonderful Sunday filled with beautiful blessings just as that jar is filled with delicious candy (which I wish I could eat!) Psssst, Annie, see if you can bribe Helmi!

XO,

Sheila :-)

This is a fun Valentime-themed post! Your hutch looks so pretty! I'm so glad you were able to make good progress on going through piles of paper--that's something I need to keep on top of too!

SassyDog has fallen in love with Helmi, so you might want to keep an eye out for her! She has "sticky fingers" if you know what I mean. If Helmi turns up missing, you know where to start looking!

Love your kettle and your teapot. I am into teapots these days and when I enjoy a cup of tea I wonder why I don't have it more often too.

You really have it together when it comes to decorating for the special occasions. Yes, I do love Helmi. Be glad she's in California! I hung a cute heart wreath on the front door and will put out a Cupid flag on the pole tomorrow.
